NEW DELHI: The CBSE will introduce the online All India Entrance Examination for Engineering (AIEEE) in 22 cities from next year. No pen/paper exercise will be allowed in these 22 centres. Successful pilot tests, which was conducted last year, has led to this initiative. Also, candidates are being offered a flexible schedule of examination.
The test will be conducted from May 7 to 25, and the pen/paper test will be held on April 29, 2012, in 65 centres. The examinees, who will appear in the online test will be given a concession, between Rs150 and Rs 300, in examination fees. The candidates, who wish to appear in the cities notified for online examination, can acquaint themselves with the process. A mock-test software will be uploaded on the CBSE website in December to help the examinees. Kota, which was removed as an AIEEE examination centre, has been chosen as one of the online test centres.
CBSE has decided to accept applications for examination through online mode only and no physical form will be sold. Log on to the CBSE/AIEEE website for the form. The examination fee will be accepted through credit/debit cards or demand drafts. To facilitate the students for filling online applications, a facilitation centre will be opened in those cities, where physical forms used to be sold in the past.
