It's possible to experience a headache, vertigo, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhoea. During the first four days of treatment for "river blindness" (onchocerciasis), you can encounter side effects from the parasites that are dying, such as joint discomfort, tender or swollen lymph nodes, eye swelling, redness, or pain, weakness, altered vision, itching, rash, and fever. Inform your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if any of these side effects persist or get worse.
Get out of a sitting or lying position carefully to prevent dizziness when standing.
Keep in mind that your doctor has recommended Covimectin 12mg because they believe you will benefit more from taking it than you will experience any negative side effects. Many users of this medicine report no significant negative effects.
If you have any severe side effects, such as neck or back pain, swelling of the face, arms, hands, or feet, chest pain, a rapid heartbeat, sleepiness, confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness, call your doctor straight away.
Rarely will this medication cause a very serious allergic reaction. However, if you experience any major adverse reaction symptoms, such as a rash, itching or swelling (particularly of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention right away.
