I recently joined Cash App and was instantly hooked. I don’t know if other users also struggled to figure out how to get money on the cash app card. I know I did at first. After doing some research, I found various ways to put money on the card, which allowed me to withdraw from ATMs and use it at stores.

The following ways methods are the best ways to put money on your Cash App card:

Direct deposit from a linked bank account
Transfers from fellow Cash App users in exchange for cash
Funds transfer from a Mastercard gift card
Cash deposit at a partner store
Selling Bitcoin and loading it on your card
From direct transfers to direct cash deposits, let’s jump straight to the point and look at where and how you can put money on your Cash App card:

Digital Banking Apps Worth to Know About

Direct Transfers From Your Linked Bank Accounts
Transferring money from a linked banking account is the primary modus operandi users use when putting money onto a Cash App account. The transfer can also be cleared instantly, as opposed to 2-3 business days, by paying a fee of 1.5% of the transfer amount. When uploading money from a linked credit card, the transaction will result in a 3% fee.

How To Link Your Bank Account To Your Cash App
If you have not previously linked any of your banking accounts to the Cash App, follow these easy steps:

Launch the Cash App by touching the home screen.
Tap on the “Banking” tab.
Select the “Add A Bank” option and proceed to add the banking details that you would like to link to the app.
Finish the linking process by following all the prompts.
When the bank account that you linked to your Cash App is devoid of funds, you can connect another account (credit card) to your Cash App in the following way:

Tap the “My Cash” tab, located on the left-hand bottom of the Cash App home screen.
Click on the bank account that you want to replace.
Tap on the “..” button.
Select Remove/Replace Bank.
Follow the self-explanatory screen prompts.
How To Put Money On Your Cash App Card Via Your Bank Account
When you have successfully linked your banking account to your Cash App card, you can transfer funds as you please by doing the following:

Launch the Cash App by touching the home screen.
Press the “Add Cash” button.
Choose the amount of cash that you want to add.
Tap the “Add” button.
Select your banking account.
Enter the PIN connected to your bank card.
Tap the “Confirm” button.
Fellow Cash App User Transfers Money In Exchange For Cash
Another method you can use when you have cash that you want to deposit into your Cash App account is to use a fellow Cash App user you trust. Exchange whatever money you have with this person, and ask them to pay from their Cash App to yours by using your cash tag username, email, or telephone number.

Uploading Money From A Mastercard Gift Card
While obtaining gift cards directly from Cash App is a feature that is not available as yet, you can deposit funds from a Mastercard gift card (debit card) to your Cash App. The process is very similar to adding money from your banking account:

Launch the Cash App by touching the home screen.
Press the “Add Cash” button.
Choose the amount of cash that you want to add.
Tap the “Add” button.
Instead of choosing your linked bank account, add the pre-paid debit card as the source.
Tap the “Confirm” button.
Deposit Cash At Partner Stores
If you are sitting with physical cash and want to deposit it directly onto your Cash App card, you will have to visit any of Cash App’s partner stores to upload. These partners include the following:

CVS Pharmacy
Walmart
Rite-Aid
7-Eleven
Dollar General
Target
Walgreens

What you will need to make a cash deposit at any of these stores is the following:

Cash
Your Cash App debit card
You will have to proceed to a cashier and inform them of your intention to deposit cash onto your Cash App card. Walmart uses its “Rapid Reload” system for cash deposits onto debit cards, and the deposit may incur a $3-$4 service fee. This service fee may be a standard feature at most stores that are able and willing to make the deposit. Most 7-Eleven’s are privately owned, and it is up to their owner’s store policy whether or not they take in cash deposits.

While researching this topic, I found that many Cash App users could not make cash deposits at some stores due to unknown reasons. Some partner stores could not assist via their debit card system, or the cashiers did not know how to do it. Some stores claimed to be offline and unable to help with the transaction, claiming it was impossible.

Other users had no problem when depositing the cash; it may be that this system works better in some states than others. Hopefully, this seemingly frustrating scenario will get sorted out soon. Life will be easier when all the partner stores are fully functional in providing this service. The cash deposit scenario is a bit of a mixed bag at the moment. Whether you have been successful or not, there are other ways to get money into your Cash App Account.

Loading Bitcoin Onto Your Cash App Card
This method of putting money on your Cash App card requires more work and effort. You will need to own some Bitcoin and sign up on an exchange platform, like Coinbase, for example. Buying and selling Bitcoin will usually cost a fee. If you have available Bitcoin that you would like to sell and transfer to your Cash App card, this is the process:

Launch the Cash App by touching the home screen.
Tap the swirly line on the bottom right corner between the money and clock symbol.
Tap on the “Bitcoin” tab next to the “Stocks” tab.
Tap the blue button with the arrow inside-similar to the “Buy” button to the right.
Tap on “Deposit Bitcoin.”
You will receive a QR code.
Copy/Paste this address and send your Bitcoin from whichever exchange/wallet that you are using.
Time to wait for the blockchain to do its work (The transaction can take minutes or a couple of hours.)
Once the Bitcoin is in your account, you can sell it, whereafter the money should appear in your Cash App wallet, ready to use.
The Final Word
There are many ways to put money on your Cash App card. Some users will swear that direct cash deposits work at partner stores, while others will disagree strongly. The primary modus operandi is a direct deposit from a linked bank account, which is considered the easiest and safest way to put money on your Cash App card.
