Daily Market Commentary : 22nd March. 2017

Dalal Street caught in bear grip on Wednesday as the market posted biggest one day fall in percentage terms in two months. The Sensex lost more than 300 points, weighed by global weakness amid rising uncertainty over US President Donald Trump’s economic policies, and Missile test in North Korea, which reports said failed. Recent government’s proposal to reduce cash transactions limit to Rs 2 lakh from Rs 3 lakh also caused selling pressure.

NSE Nifty closed at 9030 levels, down by 91 points or 1%, while BSE Sensex closed at 29,167 levels, down by 317 points or 1.1%.

Asian stock markets fell following overnight declines in U.S. financial markets as investors re-evaluated their “Trump trade” optimism. The Nikkei 225 is down 2.13% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is off 1.11% and China’s Shanghai Composite is lower by 0.50%. European markets too are lower today with shares in France off the most. The CAC 40 is down 0.88% while London’s FTSE 100 is off 0.85% and Germany’s DAX is lower by 0.68%.

HCL Tech was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Bharti Airtel was the top Nifty loser in Wednesday’s trading session.

While, BSE Mid-cap Index closed down 0.8% at 13729 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.9% at 13899.

BSE Telecom index was the top losing index on Wednesday’s trade, with Bharti Airtel and Idea pulling the index to its lows.

Bharti Airtel closed at Rs 337 per share down by Rs 11 or 3.3%, whereas Idea Cellular closed at Rs 91.35 per share down by 1 or 1.7%.

Century Enka closed at Rs 407 per share, up by Rs 47 per share or 13%.

Eros International Media closed at Rs 249 per share, up by Rs 18 per share or nearly 7%.

Sobha closed at Rs 340 per share, up by Rs 22 per share or nearly 7%.

Symphony closed at Rs 1534 per share, up by Rs 90 per share or 6%.

There were 481 advances, 1142 declines and 299 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bearish undertone floating in the market.

The rupee was trading at 65.48 per US dollar.

Daily Market Commentary : 21st March. 2017

Equity benchmarks as well as broader markets closed moderately lower amid consolidation on Tuesday as investors remained sideways due to lack of global and domestic cues. However, D-Mart hogged the limelight, rising more than 114 percent on listing day.

NSE Nifty closed at 9121 levels, down by 5 points or 0.06%, while BSE Sensex closed at 29485 levels, down by 33 points or 0.1%.

Asian stock markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The Hang Seng gained 0.37% and the Shanghai Composite rose 0.33%. The Nikkei 225 lost 0.34%. European markets are mixed. The CAC 40 is higher by 0.25%, while London’s FTSE 100 is off 0.19%. Shares in Germany are unchanged with the DAX at 12,052.70.

Grasim was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Idea was the top Nifty loser in Tuesday’s trading session.

The BSE Mid-cap Index closed down 0.4% at 13853 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 14027.

BSE Healthcare was the top losing index on Tuesday’s trade, Divi’s Lab was dragging the index to its lows.

Divi’s Lab closed at Rs 640 per share down by Rs 150 or 19%.

BSE Realty index wast the top gaining index on Tuesday, with Prestige and HDIL lifting the index to its highs.

HDIL closed at Rs 78.40 per share up by Rs 2 or 2.9%.

Neuland Labs closed at Rs 1255 per share, up by Rs 96 per share or 8.3%.

Purvankara closed at Rs 59 per share, up by Rs 4 per share or nearly 7.3%.

Pretige Estate Project closed at Rs 198 per share, up by Rs 13 per share or 7.1%.

Eros International Media closed at Rs 232 per share, up by Rs 15 per share or 7%.

There were 594 advances, 1037 declines and 287 unchanged stocks on NSE, reflecting bearish undertone floating in the market.

The rupee was trading at 65.29 per US dollar.

Indian share markets continued to trade below the dotted line in the afternoon session amid mixed global cues.

NSE Nifty closed at 9126 levels, down by 33 points or 0.3%, while BSE Sensex closed at 29,518 levels, down by 130 points or 0.4%.

Asian stock markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The Hang Seng gained 0.79% and the Shanghai Composite rose 0.41%. The Nikkei 225 lost 0.35%. European markets are lower today with shares in France off the most. The CAC 40 is down 0.36% while Germany’s DAX is off 0.29% and London’s FTSE 100 is lower by 0.24%.

Aurobindo Pharma was the top Nifty gainer whereas, Idea was the top Nifty loser in Monday’s trading session.

The BSE Mid-cap Index closed up 0.1% at 13916 whereas, BSE Small-cap Index closed up 0.3% at 14054.

BSE IT index was the top losing index on Monday’s trading session, Infosys and TCS contributed majorly to the index downfall.

Infosys closed at Rs 1017 per share down by Rs 23 per share or 2.2%.

TCS closed at Rs 2478 per share down by Rs 48 per share or 1.9%.

Repro India closed at Rs 459 per share, up by Rs 76 per share or 20%.

Advanced Enzyme Technologies closed at Rs 2024 per share, up by Rs 269 per share or nearly 15%.
