Daily Market Commentary – 12 Jan 2015

After trading on a negative terrain in most of the session Indian equity market bounce back at the late session and end the day with handsome gain. the broad-based index Nifty hold above the 8300 level and ended the day by plunging 38.50 points or 0.46% at 8323. Sensex also surged by 126.89 points and wrapped up the session at 27,585.27, up by 0.46%.

Coal India was the top Nifty loser, down 4.6 per cent on speculation that the government will soon come out with a date for 10 per cent stake sale in the PSU major.

In the Currency spot market, the rupee gained against dollar by 0.3% or 0.19 paisa and wrapped up the market at 62.14.

Among the sectoral indices CNX PSU BANK hold the baton and marched ahead of all gaining by 1.51%, chased by CNX IT (1.26%) and CNX FMCG (1.14%). While CNX METAL was the worst performer by plunging -1.69%.

Market breadth remained Negative at the close today as 738 stocks rose against 490 decline while 41 remained unchanged.

Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 26 advanced, 23 declined and 1 remain unchanged.

Top Five Nifty gainers: INDUSIND led the Nifty Gainers list and registered 4.24% gain followed HUL (3.98%), TECH MAHINDRA (2.91%), L&T (2.18%) and HCL (1.91%).

Top Five Nifty Losers: COAL INDIA was the biggest loser and fell by -4.28% followed by CAIRN (-2.96%), HINDALCO (-2.58%), JINDAL STEEL (-2.52%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (-1.98%).

Daily Market Commentary – 9 Jan 2015

After opening on a positive note Indian equity witnessed the negative momentum but manage to recoup its morning gain in last trading hours. Broad-based index Nifty test the Physcological level of 8300 and touched the intra-day high of 8303.30 before closing at 8,284.50, up by 49.90 points. Sensex closed at 27,458.38, up by 467.38 points.

Infosys Ltd, India’s second-largest software services exporter surged after beating the analysts estimates with net profit rising 5% by posting a quarterly profit of Rs 3,250 crore ($520.9 million), up from Rs 2,875 crore in the same year-ago quarter.

The rupee strengthened by 35 paise at over four-week high of 62.29 against the dollar today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on sustained selling of the US currency by exporters and banks amid higher opening in the domestic equity market. USDINR Pair ended the day at 62.39, plunging -0.46%.

Among the sectoral indices CNX IT hold the baton and marched ahead of all gaining by 3.46%, chased by CNX PHARMA (1.83%) and CNX ENERGY (1.16%). While CNX REALTY was the worst performer by plunging -1.74%.

Market breadth remained Negative at the close today as 701 stocks falls against 504 advance while 43 remained unchanged.

Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 24 advanced and 26 declined.

Top Five Nifty gainers: HUL led the Nifty Gainers list and registered 5.85% gain followed INFOSYS (5.16%), TECH MAHINDRA (4.54%), DR REDDY (3.02%) and TCS (2.71%).

Top Five Nifty Losers: DLF was the biggest loser and fell by -3.61% followed by NTPC (-3.24%), BAJAJ AUTO (-3.08%), JINDAL STEEL (-2.85%) and BOB (-2.03%).

Daily Market Commentary – 8 June 2015

After continous two day loosing streak, Indian benchmark indices rebounded & opened with gap in the early morning trades and remained positive throughout the day. The Sensex ended up 365.89 points or 1.4 percent at 27274.71 and the Nifty was up 132.50 points or 1.6 percent at 8234.60.

The broad based index rebounding from a near three-week low hit in the previous session, led by gains in companies focused on the domestic economy such as ITC and ICICI Bank on value buying.

Sentiment also got a boost after upbeat US employment data and a halt to a slide in oil eased investor concerns about the global economy.

Among the sectoral indices CNX REALTY led the list,gains 3.09% followed by CNX FINANCE (2.22%), BANK NIFTY (2.17%), CNX FMCG (2.03%) and CNX PSU BANK (1.79%).

USDINR pair continued its losing streak by ending at 62.74 plunging -0.44 paise against the wednesday close.

Market breath of NSE remained positive for the day 1237 shares advance, 295 shares declines and 53 remained unchanged.

Among the 50 stocks of Nifty 48 shares ended in green terrain and 2 in red.
